Laugh Lines, Love Lines

About This Site

As mentioned on the main page, our site is dedicated to Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series.

Laugh Lines, Love Lines was originally located at Geocities, and has been around since August 21, 1999, according to the date that was with the old counter. After BtVS ended, Kathleen, the site's creator, no longer had interest in running the site, so she turned it over to me (Anne). I moved the site to my domain www.neloo.com and the site has been open here since November of 2003.

Since the shows have ended (and therefore updates are less frequent (but note that they *do* still happen!)) we have joined forces with Angel's Secrets to bring our visitors a wider selection of content.

      Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What information/features do you have on this site?
Whether you're new to the site or you're a return visitor looking for a specific feature, you can find a detailed list of our content at the Site Map.
  2. What happened to the _____?
We rearranged a few things when applying our current layout:
» The "Fun Stuff" page was changed to our Quotes Hall of Fame; the few links that were previously on that page were moved to the main menu (at the left).
» The former content of the "off-site" page was combined onto our Site Map.
» The former Site Info page is now this FAQ/FEEDBACK page. (Then again, that's fairly self-explanatory...)
  3. Where did you get the content for this site?
Kathleen, the site's creator, transcribed most of the quotes and wrote the episode descriptions for all seven seasons of BtVS and seasons one through four of Angel. Kathleen also wrote the Giles Unconscious list and the Buffy-Angel Relationship Timeline. Other sources, including the layout credits, are listed on the links page. If you have any questions about what is original to this site, or if you feel I've failed to properly credit your work, please let me know.
  4. May I use your info on my site/message board/whatever?
If you wish to use copyrighted material from this site for purposes of your own that go beyond "fair use," you must obtain permission from the copyright owner. With that in mind, you may re-post a small portion of our text for non-commercial purposes as long as you 1) give credit by providing a link to this site, and 2) don't take a large chunk of our content. If you have questions on what qualifies as a "large chunk," feel free to email me. Thank you for respecting the time and effort that has been put into this site, as we've tried to respect the efforts of our sources. (Note: I respectfully request that you not use the layout graphics that I designed specifically for use on this site. If you need help with your own graphics, a quick Internet search will reveal multiple sources of graphics how-to's, free graphics that you can use, and much more.)
  5. Why do I see a blinking yellow graphic in place of some pictures on the site?
My domain's hotlink protection was somehow activated by your system, perhaps by your firewall settings. If you have a firewall - such as Norton Internet Security - if "private headers" are on, you will need to turn them off for this site.
  6. Did you know that _____ is wrong, _____ link is broken, etc.?
No, I didn't! Please contact me at the address below and let me know what is correct, or what info is missing. It is especially appreciated if you report broken links, because although I do check the links regularly, sites move/close so often these days that it's hard to keep track.
  7. When can we expect site updates?
Since the shows have been off the air for years, updates are quite sporadic... but they do happen! Sometimes I post my plans for the next update here (in the "things to do" thread, with the most recent posts at the end of the thread). To be notified by email of site updates, join the AngelGroup.
  8. Do you need some help with the site?
Absolutely! If you'd like to send fanfiction, you can review our submission guidelines here. If you'd like to send quotes, or any other addition to a site feature, email me at the address below. I'm always on the lookout for content for new updates, so if you have something to contribute, I can probably find a place for it!
  9. Will you link to my site/message board/whatever?
I am interested in adding informative, well-designed Angel and Angel/BtVS sites to our links section. If you have one or know of one, please share the link with me at the email address below on this page. However, I do not do "link exchanges", or link swaps, or whatever else people might call it. I *only* add links to sites that I find informative and/or entertaining -- and that typically does *not* include sites that are selling something. Thank you for understanding that our goal is a collection of quality, relevant sites.
  10. Will you place my banner on your site to advertise _____ ?
No. (No, not even for petty change or the chance to win some trinket.) I don't pay for my own website space to clutter it up with ads. If you have a Buffy-verse-related announcement, I *might* add a text link to it on the main page.
  11. Who runs this site? Do you have any other sites for other TV shows?
I run this site, and my name is Anne. As a matter of fact, I do have other sites: twenty-something of them. Feel free to check them out if you would like to know more about me - or if you're just really bored.
  12. What else should I know about visiting/using this site?
I'm sure it goes without saying, but just so we're clear, this site is in no way affiliated with any part of either show. This is a completely unofficial website created and maintained by a fan. The views and opinions of content published here are entirely those of a fan - either the webmistress or some other contributor - and are not to be construed as advice or as being representative of any producer, director, actor, organization, etc. Under no circumstances should anyone hotlink to any of our images/graphics, because we sporadically move them or replace them with images about bandwidth theft. The email address listed on this page is solely for site-related correspondence and is not to be used for unsolicited email marketing campaigns. If you have other questions, please review our disclaimer - and I apologize that the few bad apples out there made me have to "lawyer up."
  13. What happened with _____ in season _____ ? Who is _____ character? Will there be any new episodes?
For question about the show, its characters, the plots, etc. review the Show F.A.Q. (located at our sister site) to see if the question is answered there.
  14. My question isn't listed here or on the Show F.A.Q. What should I do?
You can contact me, as listed below. Please note that I am no expert, but I might be able to tell you where to look.

      Layout F.A.Q.

  1. Isn't this the same banner you had in the previous layout?
Yes and no. The original banner - see it here - was more muted. I worked for months trying to make a new banner for the new layout, but I just couldn't come up with one that I liked. So, on a whim I popped the old banner into the editor at BeFunky.com; after a bit of experimenting, the Pop Art effect (#4, with a size 2 dot) gave the banner its current look. The graphics were then positioned and finalized using Paint Shop Pro, version 7.
  2. What does the text in the banner say?
The text includes several quotes that I thought were representative of the shows' excellent writing. "The big moments are gonna come. You can't help that. It's what you do afterwards that counts. That's when you find out who you are." "I must be a noble vampire. A good guy. On a mission of redemption. I help the hopeless. I'm a vampire with a soul." "A vampire with a soul? How lame is that?" "This isn't some fairy tale. When I kiss you, you don't wake up from a deep sleep and live happily ever after." "No. When you kiss me I wanna die." "Been there, done that, and deja vu just isn't what it used to be."
  3. What font did you use in the graphics?
The words "Laugh Lines, Love Lines" are in the Gloucester MT Extra Condensed font; the smaller text is Batik Regular.
  4. Where did you get the pictures you used in the banner?
To be honest, I've had them for so long that I don't remember. :sheepish: If they're yours, please let me know, and I'd be happy to give you credit.
  5. Will this layout be up for years, like the last one was?
Probably so. For one thing, this site is so large that changing the layout requires a *great* deal of time and effort. But beyond that, I actually like this layout!

  1. How can I contact you?
If you have a question, please review the questions and answers above before you write. (It will save us both some time if the question has already been answered.)
Still got something to say? Feedback about this site is *much* appreciated; I'd love to hear your thoughts, comments or suggestions on the material contained in this site.
[ A ] Share your views, reviews, notions, emotions, etc. about Angel, BtVS, Real Life, or anything in between at our Message Board.
[ B ] Reply to a post at TV Toaster, my blog for TV, movies, and more.
[ C ] Tweet me at twitter.com/box47 and to make sure I see it, "tweet at" me (here's how) by my username, box47.
[ D ] Write to me online at anne0secretsofangel.com and be sure to include Laugh Lines Love Lines somewhere in the subject line, so that the email doesn't get deleted unopened as spam. Also, please, if sending a quote for me to add to the site, please send the specific quote(s) and the episode that they're from. Thanks!
  2. I've written to you, so why haven't you responded?
When a site visitor takes the time to write to me, I make an effort to write back. If you're waiting on a response from me, note the following:
[ A ] Did you include a clear subject line? If not, I may have thought it was spam and deleted it unopened.
[ B ] Did you write to me at the address that is currently on this page? If not, the address may no longer work, so I never got your message.
[ C ] Did you use proper form for the address?
[ D ] Is your question already answered on this page? If so, I'm sorry, but I probably won't reply and answer the question again.
[ E ] Did you send a large attachment? I'm very suspicious of e_correspondence from unknown sources, especially if it contains attachments. Please send a note without attachments first to let me know what you will be sending.
[ F ] Did you post at the forums, twitter, etc. instead of writing? I usually respond to the message where I receive it. If you email, I email back. If you tweet at me, I tweet back at you. And so forth.
[ G ] Did you follow me at twitter or at my blog? Thank you! I will check you out, and if I like what you have to say, I will follow you back.
[ H ] Did you write to me a few hours ago? I have a life - really, I do! - and sometimes I'm away from the computer for several days at a time.

Note that if you followed my suggestions for emailing and it's been a few days and you still haven't heard from me, I apologize. Please don't take it personally. I'm not trying to be rude; I'm just a bit shy sometimes. :sheepish: Feel free to write again.
