Conviction
OAD: October 1, 2003. In the fifth-season opener, the gang adjusts to life after joining forces with Wolfram & Hart. The team soon learns that, in business, evil is a relative term and battles must be carefully chosen if the firm is to remain operational and at their disposal. As the crew sifts through client profiles in an effort to locate their first case, Angel is caught off-guard by his new assistant.

Just Rewards
OAD: October 8, 2003. While the gang tries to figure out how and why Spike has suddenly appeared in L.A., Angel tries to stop a Wolfram & Hart client from using corpses as human vessels for demon spirits.

Unleashed
OAD: October 15, 2003. Angel races to locate a young woman (Jenny Mollen) bitten by a werewolf before the next full moon, when her transformation will make her dangerous to some and appealing to others.

Hellbound
OAD: October 22, 2003. As Fred works nonstop to embody Spike, the gang links his unintentional disappearances to an evil spirit who's feeding other specters to hell in an effort to delay its own descent into the torturous realm.

Life of the Party
OAD: October 29, 2003. In addition to handling Wolfram & Hart's celebrity clients, Lorne is also in charge of the firm's annual Halloween bash, an event he's having a devil of a time getting the gang to commit to attending. But as soon as his pals show up at the party, they suddenly submit to his every suggestion.

The Cautionary Tale of Numero Cinco
OAD: November 5, 2003. On the Mexican Day of the Dead, Angel has a run-in with a Wolfram & Hart employee (Danny Mora) who's connected to an Aztec warrior demon that thrives on the hearts of heroes. Elsewhere, Spike researches the Shansu prophesy, while Angel wrestles with personal issues.

Lineage
OAD: November 12, 2003. As the gang investigates a team of cyborg assassins, Wes gets a visit from his estranged father (Roy Dotrice), who brings news of a re-formed Watchers' Council. But the social call soon sours when the elder Wyndam-Pryce encounters Angel, who's the real reason he's in L.A..

Destiny
OAD: November 19, 2003. Drusilla (Juliet Landau) returns in flashbacks that reveal more of Angel and Spike's contentious past as the vamps race to find the Cup of Perpetual Torment in hopes of fulfilling the Shanshu prophesy.

Harm's Way
OAD: January 14, 2004. Angel (David Boreanaz) arranges an important truce meeting between two warring demon tribes through a Demon Rights Activist (guest star Bryce Mouer). Already feeling unappreciated at work, Harmony's (Mercedes McNab) life in the office gets worse when she finds the Demon Rights Activist dead in her bed one morning after a night of drinking. Knowing that Angel will kill her for causing the summit negotiations to break down, Harmony is desperate to find out who framed her for the murder.

Soul Purpose
OAD: January 21, 2004. A mysterious stranger (guest star Christian Kane) approaches Spike (James Marsters) claiming responsibility for recorporealizing him in a mission to guide Spike in supplanting Angel (David Boreanaz) as the new vampire champion. Meanwhile, Angel is racked by intense fever dreams and hallucinations of his worst fears intensifying his worries that he will lose authority to Spike.

Damage
OAD: January 28, 2004. When an emotionally unstable woman, Dana (guest star Navi Rawat, "House of Sand and Fog"), escapes from a psychiatric ward, Angel (David Boreanaz) learns that she was tortured as a child and is now searching for her tormentor. Andrew (guest star Tom Lenk, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"), a watcher-in-training, arrives from Sunnydale with surprising information about Buffy and to inform the group that Dana is also a vampire slayer. Meanwhile, Spike (James Marsters) believes that if he can save Dana, he will prove that he is destined to be the vampire champion.

You're Welcome
OAD: February 4, 2004. Cordelia (guest star Charisma Carpenter) mysteriously awakens from her coma and is shocked and unhappy to discover that Angel (David Boreanaz) and the group are no longer fighting Wolfram & Hart, they're running it. When she realizes that Angel has lost his conviction to be a hero, she gives him the information and support he needs to get back on track. Meanwhile, while Angel has security keeping an eye on Eve (Sarah Thompson), her partner Lindsay (guest star Christian Kane) prepares to bring about Angel's demise.

Why We Fight
OAD: February 11, 2004. Lawson (guest star Eyal Podell, "Behind Enemy Lines"), a mysterious man from Angel's past, arrives at Wolfram & Hart and takes the gang hostage. Through flashbacks to World War II, it is revealed that Angel worked with the U.S. Navy to recover a captured German submarine with American sailors on board. The ship also has a secret cargo, a dangerous trio of vampires, including Spike (James Marsters), who were kidnapped by the Germans and forced to help the Nazis. When the sub comes under attack, Angel saves Lawson's life by turning him into a vampire. Now, sixty years later, Lawson has arrived at Wolfram & Hart seeking revenge.

Smile Time
OAD: February 18, 2004. When a popular children's show begins to steal the life forces of children by hypnotizing them, Angel goes directly to the studio to uncover the evil doings. Upon entering the building, Angel triggers a spell that transforms him into a puppet. In a race against time, puppet-Angel and company must find a way to reverse the spell, save the lives of hundreds of children and return Angel to his normal vampire state. Meanwhile, Nina (guest star Jenny Mollen), the werewolf Angel befriended, returns to declare her romantic intentions, but puppet-Angel is too embarrassed to reciprocate.

A Hole in the World
OAD: February 25, 2004. When Fred opens up an ancient sarcophagus that was anonymously sent to her, she is infected by a mysterious, parasitic demon called Illyria. When Angel and Spike learn that Illyria is an ancient demon who existed before recorded time, they must return her to the demon burial ground before she kills Fred and thousands of other innocent victims.

Shells
OAD: March 3, 2004. Angel and Spike return from England defeated, knowing that the ancient demon Illyria has completely taken over Fred's (Amy Acker) body and soul. Upon learning that Knox (guest star Jonathan Woodward) and Gunn (J. August Richards) have each contributed to her demise, Wesley goes for revenge and Angel tries everything to restore Fred, including calling on an old friend from Sunnydale. Meanwhile, Illyria tries to locate an ancient temple where she believes she will find an army ready to help her destroy mankind.

Underneath
OAD: April 14, 2004. While protecting Eve from a bounty hunter (Adam Baldwin), Angel grills her for info on the Senior Partners' plans and learns that an exiled Lindsey may have all the answers. But first the gang must save him from the torture dimension he currently occupies. Meanwhile, Wes gets to know Illyria better.

Origin
OAD: April 21, 2004. Angel's son, Connor, who has no memory of his old life, shows up at Wolfram & Hart and a prophecy reveals that he's the only one capable of vanquishing a powerful demon. Elsewhere, Hamilton tries to strike a bargain with the exiled Gunn; and Wes makes a stunning discovery about the gang's pact with the firm.

Time Bomb
OAD: April 28, 2004. After her unstable mystical powers allow her to jump time dimensions, Illyria discovers the gang's plot to kill her, so Angel must go back in time to keep her from murdering his friends first. Elsewhere, Gunn returns from his self-imposed exile and tries to get back into the swing of things at Wolfram & Hart. His first case involves overseeing a demonic adoption in which the surrogate mother (Jaime Bergman) may not have been given full disclosure.

The Girl In Question
OAD: May 5, 2004. Concerned by a report that the Immortal is after Buffy (Sarah Michelle Gellar, who does not appear in the episode), Angel and Spike head to Rome, where they discover what the Slayer has been up to — and with whom. Back in Los Angeles, Illyria confounds Wesley with her behavior when Fred's folks show up unexpectedly.

Power Play
OAD: May 12, 2004. The gang starts to have doubts about Angel's loyalties when he appears to have become very close with the Circle of the Black Thorn, an evil secret demon society. When Drogyn (guest star Alec Newman), the guardian of the deep well, makes a startling revelation, the gangs' fears that Angel has become evil seem to be validated.

Not Fade Away (Series Finale)
OAD: May 19, 2004. Angel and company spend the day as if it were their last as they prepare to bring down the evil Circle of the Black Thorn. Putting their lives on the line, Spike confronts a demon cult, Lorne faces off with Lindsay, Gunn takes on an evil senator and Angel battles Hamilton, the henchman of the Senior Partners.
