Deep Down
OAD: October 6, 2001. With Angel (David Boreanaz) trapped on the ocean floor and Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) stuck on a mystical plane, Fred (Amy Acker) and Gunn (J. August Richards) are frustrated at the lack of clues regarding their friends' whereabouts, especially after the only eyewitness to Angel's disappearance is murdered. After Angel is rescued by the most unlikely person, the shocking reasons behind the mysterious disappearances become clear.

Ground State
OAD: October 13, 2001. When Wesley (Alexis Denisof) advises Angel (David Boreanaz) to visit Dinza (guest star Rena Owen), a dark "goddess of the lost" who has valuable information on how to find Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), he learns that a certain mystical antiquity can locate souls across dimensions. Angel, Fred (Amy Acker) and Gunn (J. August Richards) break into an auction house to retrieve the object only to discover that an electrifying cat burglar (guest star Alexa Davalos) has the same intentions.

The House Always Wins
OAD: October 20, 2001. Tired of dealing with Connor (Vincent Kartheiser) and looking for Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter), Angel (David Boreanaz) decides to take Gunn (J. August Richards) and Fred (Amy Acker) on a road trip to Vegas to visit Lorne (Andy Hallet) who is performing in a showcase at one of the casinos. They discover that Lorne is being coerced by the casino owner into stealing the "significant destinies" of audience members to sell on the black market. When the casino owner learns that Angel is destined to play a major role in the apocalypse, Cordelia must come to his aid from a distance to prevent his future from being stolen.

Slouching Toward Bethlehem
OAD: October 27, 2002. After months of existing on a higher (and evidently very boring) plane, Cordelia inexplicably appears back at the hotel — with no idea why or even how she arrived there. Sadly, a serious case of amnesia prevents Cordy from remembering either her friends or her past. Believing the full truth may scare her off, the gang attempts to hide the freaky facts about their lives. Unfortunately, that secrecy leads to mistrust on Cordy's part when the reality of their situation is revealed. Things get even more complicated when Lorne reads her mind and sees a terrifying vision of the future. Meanwhile, outcast Connor struggles to find his place in the world.

Supersymmetry
OAD: November 3, 2002. After Fred's (Amy Acker) physics article is published; she's invited to speak at a symposium where a portal opens, bringing her face to face with a demon and a dark secret about her old professor. Meanwhile, Angel (David Boreanaz) tries to solve the mystery of the portal and why someone would want Fred out of the way.

Spin The Bottle
OAD: November 10, 2002. When Lorne (Andy Hallett) performs a spell on Cordelia (Charisma Carpenter) to restore her memory, it inadvertently causes the gang to revert back to their high school personas and leaves them with no memories of each other. Eventually, they discover that the only way to reverse the spell is to kill a vampire, just as Angel (David Boreanaz) realizes that he is one.

Rain of Fire (aka "Apocalypse, Nowish")
OAD: November 17, 2002. When Cordelia's (Charisma Carpenter) apocalyptic nightmares become a reality, Angel (David Boreanaz), Wesley (Alexis Denisof), Gunn (J. August Richards) and Lorne (Andy Hallett) find themselves powerless against The Beast (guest star Vladimir Kulich) who has risen from the center of the Earth, bringing earthquakes and a rain of fire to Los Angeles. Bloodied and beaten, Angel and his friends realize that they may not be able to stop the impending doom.

Habeas Corpses
OAD: January 15, 2003. Another day has dawned for Angel Investigations, but terror still casts a shadow as the Beast cuts a murderous swath through the city. The shaky gang gathers at the hotel after a seemingly endless night facing a rain of fire and the emergence of the monster Cordy's vision predicts will bring about the Apocalypse. But before they can decipher recent events, they learn that Connor, who went to Wolfram & Hart to uncover his connection to the Beast (Vladimir Kulich), is now trapped in the building with the demon. Angel, along with Fred, Gunn and Wesley, prepares to rescue his son. But first the group must reckon with the firm's employees, who have undergone a strange transformation.

Long Day's Journey
OAD: January 22, 2003. Gwen Raiden (Alexa Davalos) resurfaces as the gang investigates the systematic killing of members of Ra-Tet, a mystical order of powerful beings linked to the embodiment of the ancient sun god.

Awakening
OAD: January 29, 2003. In an attempt to locate the Beast (Vladimir Kulich) and restore the Sun, Wesley brings in a dark mystic (Roger Yuan) to extract Angel's soul and release Angelus, who Cordy foretold would make a deadly pact with the demon.

Soulless
OAD: February 5, 2003. The gang at Angel Investigations faces a familiar foe even more formidable than the Beast — Angelus. Angel's exquisitely evil alter ego is back after the vampire's soul is extracted by a shaman in an attempt to determine Angel's connection to the demon wreaking havoc in Los Angeles. But the sullen supervamp has little love for the derring-do-gooders and soon starts spilling their secrets, aiming to turn the friends against each other. Wes, Fred, Gunn and Connor all get their shot at face time with the caged Angelus, but it's Cordy who holds the key to get him talking.

Calvary
OAD: February 12, 2003. As the gang scrambles to locate Angel's stolen soul, Lilah emerges from the sewers and tries her hand at persuading Angelus to stop the Beast. In other developments, Fred and Gunn make a decision about their relationship; and Angelus makes a comment that has the group looking at the Beast in a different light.

Salvage
OAD: March 5, 2003. Eliza Dushku returns to the series as rogue vampire slayer Faith, who may prove to be the only match for Angelus. Angel's evil alter ego, who's out of his cage and pursuing the Beast, hits a pool hall packed with vamps to see if he can determine the demon's hideout. Meanwhile, at the hotel, Wes goes about the grisly task of dispatching Lilah's corpse, as Lorne, Fred and Gunn gather ingredients for a protective sanctuary spell. But the gang is all too familiar with the unpredictability of magic, so Wes pays a visit to the incarcerated Faith to try to persuade her to join the team in the race to prevent Armageddon.

Release
OAD: March 12, 2003. As Faith recovers from her showdown with the Beast, Angelus surprises Fred at the hotel. He hopes her research will reveal who (or what) motivated the demon's lust for destruction.

Orpheus
OAD: March 19, 2003. Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Willow (Alyson Hannigan) heads to L.A. in hopes of working her magic to restore Angel's soul. After drinking Faith's spiked blood, Angelus lies shackled and unconscious at the hotel. But his rest is anything but peaceful as his drug-addled mind presents him with disturbing memories — of Angel's good deeds. Also along for his strange trip is Faith, who's clinging to life after her violent showdown with Angel's evil alter ego. As the two struggle with their flashbacks, the gang confers with Willow, who has come from Sunnydale at Fred's behest. The witch, who was able to re-ensoul Angel once before, may be their only hope.

Players
OAD: March 26, 2003. Gwen Raiden returns to Angel Investigations and asks Gunn for assistance in rescuing a kidnapped girl from a powerful tycoon's high-tech mansion. In other developments, Cordy and Connor reveal their secret to the rest of the gang.

Inside Out
OAD: April 2, 2003. Two distinct portraits of parenting are drawn as Cordelia plots to protect her pregnancy and Connor finally meets his mother, Darla. The gang has determined the location of the Beast's master, but Connor and Cordelia have gone into hiding to keep their evil offspring safe. The cunning mother-to-be plays on Connor's vulnerability, convincing him that their friends are out to kill their child — just as they were planning to murder Connor before he was born. To expedite the birth process before they're discovered, Cordy makes a murderous request that leads Connor to a moral crossroads — and elicits a ghostly visit from Darla.

Shiny, Happy People
OAD: April 9, 2003. As Cordelia lies in a coma following her demonic delivery, the rest of the gang becomes acquainted with — and enchanted by — her unexpected offspring. But when Fred sees something the others don't (or won't), she finds herself all alone and on the run.

The Magic Bullet

Angel (David Boreanaz) and the gang are made an offer they can't refuse when they are given the opportunity to take over Wolfram & Hart and obtain all of the firm's secret and powerful information.
